02 NCAC 38 .0205             REPAIRS TO REJECTED WEIGHING DEVICES

A scale or weighing device which has been rejected for repairs by a duly authorized weights and measures inspector may be put back into service after having been serviced by a registered scale technician. The Director of Weights and Measures may grant permission for the renewed use of such equipment if:

(1)           The technician rendering service sealed the rejection notice in an envelope; and

(2)           The envelope bears the name, address, and registration number of the scale technician, date service was rendered, type of service rendered, and signature of scale technician.
